DR. KEVIN CAMERON / CAMERON PSYCHOLOGY
Modern mental health has become exceptionally skilled at giving people a diagnosis, “naming” problems, explaining them or finding something to blame, validating EVERYTHING, and keeping people in therapy so they can learn to “cope” with their struggles.
I’m interested in what changes them.
Psychology for real life!
MENTAL HEALTH HAS BECOME TOO COMFORTABLE
GROWTH IS NOT

Warning: This website may challenge beliefs that have helped you avoid changing.
-
Trauma (s) shape how you perceive danger, impact your relationships, affect trust, and how you view yourself…
Trauma is the “why” and shouldn’t be the excuse!
WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU MATTERS… WHAT HAPPENS NEXT DOES TOO!
-
If awareness alone created change, then understanding your patterns would have already stopped you from repeating them, and you wouldn’t be on this website.
INSIGHT WITHOUT ACTION CAN BECOME AVOIDANCE & EXCUSES
-
Feelings contain valuable information. They can identify danger, loss, desire, resentment, needs…
But they are a reaction to something, and not every feeling deserves to drive the decisions in your life.
LISTENING TO YOUR FEELINGS DOESN’T MEAN YOU AUTOMATICALLY OBEY THEM
-
You may never receive the explanation, apology, accountability, or ending you want/deserve.
Your life doesn’t have to remain on hold while you wait on someone else to make the past acceptable.
YOU CAN MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION!

If you already understand where the problem stems from, why it’s a problem, and why it keeps repeating… You may need something that “understanding” alone cannot provide.
UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM ISN’T THE SAME AS OVERCOMING IT!
01 / QUESTION THE IDENTITIY
TRAUMA ISN’T YOUR IDENTITY

02 / QUESTION THE ASSUMPTION
SELF-AWARENESS IS OVERRATED
If awareness alone created change, then understanding your patterns would have already stopped you from repeating them, and you wouldn’t be on this website.
INSIGHT WITHOUT ACTION CAN BECOME AVOIDANCE & EXCUSES
03 / QUESTION THE ATHORITY
FEELINGS ARE HORRIBLE LEADERS
Feelings contain valuable information. They can identify danger, loss, desire, resentment, needs…

04 / QUESTION THE REQUIREMENT
CLOSURE IS AN OPTION… NOT A REQUIREMENT
You may never receive the explanation, apology, accountability, or ending you want/deserve.
Your life doesn’t have to remain on hold while you wait on someone else to make the past acceptable.
YOU CAN MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION!
05 / QUESTION THE STRATEGY
YOU MAY NOT NEED MORE “INSIGHT”
If you already understand where the problem stems from, why it’s a problem, and why it keeps repeating… You may need something that “understanding” alone cannot provide.
UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM ISN’T THE SAME AS OVERCOMING IT!
WHEN UNDERSTANDING ISN’T ENOUGH
YOU UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM… IT STILL HASN’T CHANGED
You are capable, successful, and accustomed to solving difficult problems.
But this one has not responded to more discipline, more effort, or more insight.
You may understand why you withdraw, overreact, avoid conflict, remain relentlessly in control, or repeat the same relationship patterns. You may know where the behavior came from and recognize it while it is happening.
And yet it continues affecting your marriage, your family, your leadership, your performance, or your ability to enjoy the life you have built.
That does not mean you lack intelligence, strength, or self-awareness.
It means understanding the problem and becoming capable of responding differently are not the same thing.
SUCCESS CAN HELP YOU HIDE A PROBLEM.
IT CANNOT SOLVE IT.
High functioning does not mean unaffected. Sometimes it means you have become exceptionally good at carrying a problem without letting anyone see its cost.
Modern mental health has become exceptionally good at helping people name their patterns, understand their histories, and validate their experiences.
Those things matter—but they are not the finish line.
Insight has value only when it increases your capacity to make a different decision, tolerate a difficult emotion, engage a necessary conversation, or stop organizing your life around what happened to you.
CAMERON PSYCHOLOGY BEGINS WHERE EXPLANATION STOPS.
The work is not simply to understand why the pattern exists. The work is to change what happens when it appears in real life.
